Dialog-On project November 2001- November 2003.
Extended to February 2004
The aim of the DIALOG-ON project was to develop a large-scale programme of innovative activities which will enable trade union officers and workplace representatives from organisations affiliated to the European Trade Union Confederation to participate more effectively in social dialogue and to create the conditions which support the process of adaptation to the new economy.
The project concentrated on the use of information society (IS) tools to modernise social dialogue and had 2 main strands of activity - Building European Trade Union Online Networks and Using Information Society Tools for European Trade Union Training - with additional activities on Web Portals.
The two main strands developed innovative and flexible training modules and trained trainers and animateurs to deliver them, before embarking on a series of multiplier activities both within and beyond the project framework.
In addition to the training modules, the project established a minimum of 8 online networks for trade union officers and workplace representatives and the delivery of 14 online training courses on topics related to the anticipation of economic and social change, social dialogue and the modernisation of work organisation.
The entire project contributed to the improvement of access to and use of IS tools within the European trade union movement and as such represents a major step forward in terms of offering life-long learning opportunities for non-traditional learners.
