This workbook on European Works Councils (EWCs) is designed as a training tool for people with some experience of EWCs, and is aimed at trainers and coordinators of EWCs, with outlines of suggested training activities included throughout the text. The emphasis in these materials is helping representatives develop strategies appropriate for their dealings with a particular company. The workbook therefore has four key aims:
- to promote an understanding of the differences between EWCs
- to provide information about how your EWC can work most effectively
- to help you set goals for your own EWC
- to offer some practical examples of what some EWCs have already achieved
The workbook contains material from interviews with works councillors at the German chemical company, Beiersdorf, the Swedish paper company SCA, and Air France. Available for downloading in English, French and German in pdf format.
