Training future European trade union leaders 2005 – 2006 Week I and Week 2 (6 days)
|
Aims |
To understand and analyse recent developments affecting the European trade union movement, particularly as regards:
- the structures, policies and roles of trade union confederations and their affiliates in Europe
- the structures, policies and roles of the European Trade Union Confederation and the European industry federations
- the structures and policies of the European Union particularly in the light of the Single European Market and the Treaty on European Union
- significant European industrial relations issues (representation of workers, collective bargaining, pay and working conditions, equal opportunities, etc.)
To acquire a range of operational skills by enabling course participants to:
- lay the foundations for learning a common foreign language for communication (English or French)
To learn how to influence and support decision-making at EU level
To carry out a project in a multilingual and transnational group using strategic management techniques
To gain an understanding of cultural differences
